North Western Pomerania forest landscape

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The North Western Pomerania forest landscape is a spacious, sparsely populated forest area in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania , southwest of the Hanseatic city of Stralsund . From 2009, the areas will be part of a major nature conservation project of the same name for 12 years , the spatial extent of which corresponds to the EU bird sanctuary.

The numerous wetlands as a habitat for the lesser spotted eagle are remarkable . The nature reserves NSG Borgwallsee and Pütter See and NSG Krummenhagener See are located in the North Western Pomeranian forest landscape. The Schuenhagen Forestry Department is essentially responsible for land management. A nature trail provides information about the landscape's worth of protection.
