Norman's Cay is a small island that belongs to the Exuma Cays ( Exuma District ) of the Bahamas and is known for its abundance of fish . The island was owned by Carlos Lehder Rivas from 1978 and was used as the headquarters for drug smuggling of the Colombian Medellín cartel until 1982 .

Before Norman's Cay is a drop in Curtiss C46 "Norman's Cay sunken C46" at the position of 24 ° 35 '40 "  N , 76 ° 48' 36"  W . This aircraft wreck is often referred to as the DC-3 because it is roughly the same in appearance and size as the Curtiss C-46.

At the end of 2016, the island was rented by the owners to Billy McFarland , who had advertising recordings made for his Fyre Festival here . After he had not kept to the agreements, the lease was terminated.
