Norman Schneider

Norman Schneider (born October 18, 1972 in Schwalmstadt , Hessen) is a German figure maker and puppeteer .

Career

Schneider spent his childhood in Schwalmstadt. Shaped by series such as Sesame Street , the Muppet Show and the Augsburger Puppenkiste , he made his first marionettes at the age of eight and gave his first performances to friends and family. After completing his vocational training as a carpenter, he completed a two-year training course as a puppeteer at the Niekamp Theater Company (NTC) in Bielefeld . Schneider was then an ensemble puppeteer at NTC for four years and received three years of private singing and acting lessons.

Since 2000 he has been a freelance figure maker with his own studio. He also works as a freelance employee at the Jim Henson Company in New York City and is a lecturer in figure making (educational institution for figure theater at the Lebherz court, Kulturspeicher Dörenthe, LAG Figurentheater NRW eV, private workshops).
