Norman Wanstall

Norman Wanstall (* 1935 in Brentford , Middlesex ) is a British film editor and sound engineer who won an Oscar in 1965 for best sound effects .

Life

Wanstall began his work in the film industry in 1957 as an editor for the film Miracle in Soho . Later he also worked as a sound designer and was involved in the production of 26 films. He was best known for his work in James Bond films .

At the Academy Awards in 1965 he won the Oscar for best sound effects in the James Bond film Goldfinger (1964) by Guy Hamilton with Sean Connery , Gert Frobe and Honor Blackman in the leading roles .

In 1978 he directed the documentary The Rise and Fall of Ivor Dickie , in which he also Editor executed.
