Coordinates: 25 ° 37 ′ S , 151 ° 36 ′ E The North Burnett Region is a local government area (LGA) in the Australian state of Queensland . The area is 19,670 km² and has about 10,000 inhabitants.

The region is located in the southeast of the state about 250 km northeast of the capital Brisbane .
The administrative seat of the LGA is Gayndah with about 1700 inhabitants. history
Today's North Burnett Region emerged in 2008 from the six Shires big-legends, Eidsvold, Gayndah, Monto, Mundubbera and Perry.
administration
The North Burnett Regional Council has seven members. Six councilors are elected by the residents of the six divisions (constituencies). The council chairman and mayor (mayor) is also elected by all residents of the region.
