North German Timber Control Commission

The North German Timber Control Commission (NGTC) (German translated: North German Timber Control Commission ) was an authority of the British military government in the British zone of occupation , which was subordinate to the Control Commission for Germany (CCG). It was based in Minden from 1945 and in Hamburg from 1946 . The NGTC was responsible for regulating the logging of timber , firewood and other forestry products in the occupation zone, as well as their distribution and processing. On the German side, it was subordinate to the Forestry and Wood Management Council established on November 21, 1945 . The tasks of the NGTC were transferred to the British Timber Production Agency in 1949 and the Forestry and Timber Industry Council was dissolved on March 31, 1949 in favor of the Agriculture and Forestry Department in the Administrative Council of the United Economic Area. At the end of 1947, the NGTC had 307 employees.
