The Northern Luzon Heroes Hill National Park is located in the province of Ilocos Sur on the island of Luzon in the Philippines . The national park was established on July 9, 1963 on an area of 1314 hectares in the metropolitan areas of Santa and Narvacan . The national park is about 15 miles south of Vigan City and can be reached via the coastal road.
The national park was established in honor of the national heroine Gabriela Silang , who led an uprising against Spanish suzerainty in the Ilocos region during the British invasion of the Philippines in 1763.
