The Norvegiabåen is a reef rock that is less than 2 m deep off the north coast of Bouvet Island in the South Atlantic . It is located around 800 meters east-northeast of Cape Valdivia .
Participants in an expedition financed by the Norwegian whaling entrepreneur Lars Christensen and led by Captain Harald Horntvedt (1879-1946) mapped the rock in December 1927. Horntvedt named it after his ship Norvegia .
