Norwood Scarp is a distinctive, 18 km long and 1525  m high terrain step in the east of the Palmerland on the Antarctic Peninsula . It forms the eastern flank of the Weyerhaeuser glacier .

Scientists from the United States Antarctic Service Expedition (1939–1941) photographed them from the air on September 28, 1940. The Falkland Islands Dependencies Survey did the same on August 14, 1947, and took surveys in December 1958 and November 1960 . The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named it in 1962 after the English mathematician Richard Norwood (1590–1675), who demonstrated the advantages of great circle sailing in navigation.
