Prix du Lundi

Prix du Lundi (German “Monday Prize”) or Nouveau Grand Prix de la science-fiction française is a French literary prize that has been awarded since 2006 for works in the field of science fiction .

The award goes back to a Dejeuner du Lundi (“Monday lunchtime”) - a traditional weekly meeting of science fiction enthusiasts - in November 2006, at which those present (Joseph Altairac, Lydia Ben Ytzhak, Philippe Curval, Patrick Dusoulier, Marianne Leconte, Christophe Louvet, Olivier Paquet, Georges Pierru, Quarante-Deux, Kurt Steiner and Matthieu Walraet) decided to set up this award, which sees itself as the successor to the Grand Prix de la Science-Fiction Française , which was discontinued in 1991 and, in contrast to its successor award , the Grand Prix de l'Imaginaire , which from 1992 also opened up to other genres such as fantasy and horror literature , exclusively awarded French science fiction. One novel and one short story or short story collection are each awarded. The last award was given in 2015.

The prize is endowed with a certificate and an invitation to one of the Dejeuners du Lundi .
