Novatus

Novatus († 151 in Rome ) was a presbyter and saint .

Novatus was a son of Senator Pudens , who is said to have housed the Apostle Peter in his house on the Esquiline . It is said to have been an important refuge for the early Christian community in the city of Rome. Novatus' siblings were Pudentiana , Praxedis and Timotheus, who, like Pudens and Novatus themselves, are venerated as saints.

The saint's feast day is June 20th . His relics are venerated in the churches of Santa Pudenziana and Santa Prassede .
