Nozomu Tamaki ( Japanese 環 望 , Tamaki Nozomu ; born October 7, 1966 in Tokyo Prefecture ) is a Japanese mangaka .

Life

Nozomu Tamaki has four brothers, a younger of whom is also a mangaka under the name Harumi Shimamoto ( 島 本 晴 海 ).

Tamaki's professional career began when he received an Honorable Mention at the 1986 Shogakukan Manga Prize under the pseudonym Kinki Maō ( 近畿 魔王 ) . Shōgakukan then published his debut work Otasuke Hito Toru in the manga magazine Shōnen Sunday Daibessatsu ! ( お 助 け 人 疾 る! ). He was an assistant to the Mangaka Ippongi Bang , as was his brother.

From 1989/90 to 1994, based on a design by Hiroshi Yamaguchi, the manga Reverser: Jikū no Ryūkihei appeared in Shōgakukan's magazine Popcom Comic and was also summarized in four anthologies. From 1994 to 1995 he made the drawings for Yuka Minagawa's manga Seiken'ō Shigurīdo , but at the Tokuma Shoten publishing house . In addition, he publishes to this day under the circle name Tamakiya ( 環 屋 ) and dōjinshi , which are offered at Comiket .

After a year-long hiatus, he began publishing the manga Gomen ne! In 1996 . Atchie in the magazine Men's Young the publisher Futabasha . With this he turned to pornographic ( hentai ) manga, which often occurs in Mangaka's early career, but here it is unusual that on the one hand he did not use a separate pseudonym for it and on the other hand is usually switched from pornographic to mainstream manga. Until 2001 his publications appeared mainly in the magazines Men's Young , Men's Action and Action Young by Futabasha, but the anthologies were published by Angel Shuppan with new editions by other publishers.

His second pornographic manga Hime Kabuki Rendōchū ( 姫 カ ブ キ 恋 道 中 ) appeared in Men's Action and later under his circle Tamakiya again on the Comiket by two more chapters. The chapters from the men's action were published in English from 1998 to 1999 in nine issues as Femme Kabuki at Studio Ironcats Imprint Sexy Fruit .

From 2000 he also worked for the publishers Takeshobō and Wani Magazine . His last manga volume for adults, Ne-To-Ge , was published by Shōnen Gahōsha in 2007 .

In 2005 he started the Shōnen -Manga Dance in the Vampire Bund in Media Factory's magazine Gekkan Comic Flapper , which became his greatest success outside of Japan. The chapters were summarized in 13 volumes ( Tankōbon ) from 2006 to 2012 . The manga has been translated into several languages, including German, where it appears on Tokyopop , and adapted as an anime television series that was also published in German. For this he also drew "official dōjinshi". The story was continued with two side series, Dive in the Vampire Bund and Sledgehammer no Tsuioku , and from December 2013 to April 2015 by the series Scarlet Order: Dance in the Vampire Bund 2 .

From 2010 to 2012 he contributed the drawings to Kent Minami's Angel Para Bellum , which appeared in the webcomic magazine FlexComix Next from 2010 to 2012 and was summarized in three edited volumes from 2011 to 2012. This has also been published in English and German since 2012. At about the same time , his manga Lily Trigger , which was drawn by Yūshi Kanoe , also appeared as a webcomic, but in the magazine Yomban or Web Comic Gekkin . This was printed in two edited volumes from 2010 to 2011.

With Hard Nerd Daddy - Hatarake! Otaku !! which started on May 10, 2013 in Young Comic Cherry magazine , he drew a manga about an otaku who suddenly becomes a father. He and his wife Kimiko ( 紀美子 ) had a daughter on June 24, 2013. This was followed by Uchi no Musume ni Te o Dasu na from January 2014 to May 2015 ! - Oyako Heroine Funtōsu about an overprotective former superhero whose daughter has now also become a superhero.

At the end of the 90s he was also active as a film reviewer with contributions in the five-volume series on the Hong Kong cinema Hong Kong Den'eijō ( 香港 電影 城 ; Shōgakukan, 1995–1998) and the Hong Kong Eiga Video Guide ( 香港 映 画 ビ デ オ ガ イ ド ; Tatsumi Shuppan, 1997), to horror films in Kowai Eiga ga Mitai! Best 100 ( こ わ い 映 画 が 見 た い! ベ ス ト 100 ; Shōgakukan, 1998) and on monster films in Shin Eiga Hōko: Monster Panic ( 新 映 画 宝庫 ・ モ ン ス タ ー パ ニ ッ ク ; Taiyō Shuppan, 2000).
