Nuʿaim ibn Masʿūd

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Nuʿaim ibn Masʿūd ,نعيم بن مسعود / Nuʿaim b. Masʿūd , was a leader of the Arab Ghatafān who lived near Yathrib ( Medina ) in the time of Muhammad . He had a prominent position in the battle of the trenches because he had secretly converted to Islam and sowed discord between the Quraish , Ghatafān and Banū Quraiza , which ultimately resulted in the attackers withdrawing and Mohammed executing all the men of the Banū Quraiza and all women and enslaved children.

The Ashja from the group of Ghatafān ran over to the Muslims during the trench battle, together with Nu zusammenaim ibn Masūd . The other Ghatafān also stood on the side of his opponents during Muhammad's campaign to Khaibar and only became Muslims after his death.
