Nuno Melo (born March 18, 1966 in Joane ) is a Portuguese politician of the CDS-PP . He has been a member of the European Parliament since 2009 .

Melo is vice-chairman of the CDS-PP and chairman of the district political committee in Braga . For several years he was chairman of the Vila Nova de Famalicão Municipal Council . He sat for a few years in the Assembleia da República , where from 2004 to 2006 he was chairman of the CDS-PP parliamentary group and vice-president of parliament. In the 2009 European elections , he was the top candidate of his party. In the European Parliament, the chairman of the delegation of his party as well as deputy chairman of the delegation for relations with the countries of Mercosur .
