Nuri Aksel (* 1953 in Bursa , Turkey ) is a German university lecturer. He holds the chair for technical mechanics and fluid mechanics at the University of Bayreuth .

Life

In 1973 Nuri Aksel began studying mechanical engineering at the University of Darmstadt , which he successfully completed on November 23, 1979 with a diploma (Dipl.-Ing.). Half a year later he began his work as a “research assistant” at the Institute for Mechanical Process Engineering at the Faculty of Chemical Engineering at the University of Karlsruhe . On July 20, 1984, Nuri Aksel received his doctorate from the University of Darmstadt with his thesis on the "theoretical studies on viscoelastic friction". Five years after starting his engagement at the Institute for Mechanical Process Engineering in Karlsruhe , he was promoted and worked from December 1, 1985 to September 30, 1990 as a senior research assistant at the same institute.

On July 6, 1990, he completed his habilitation at the University of Karlsruhe with his habilitation thesis "Compressible Non-Newtonian Fluids" and was allowed to do his PhD from now on. rer. nat. Ing.habil. call. For the next three years (from October 1, 1990 to March 31, 1993) he worked on the one hand as a research assistant at the Fraunhofer Institute for Chemical Technology ICT in Pfinztal , and on the other hand he lectured on fluid mechanics at the University of Karlsruhe.

On April 1, 1993, Nuri Aksel became the holder of the chair for fluid mechanics at Chemnitz University of Technology , until he was finally given the chair for technical mechanics and fluid mechanics at his current place of work, the University of Bayreuth , in October 1998 .
