ONE National Gay & Lesbian Archive is an American archive and museum .

The ONE National Gay & Lesbian Archive contains the largest collection of LGBT documents in the world. Over 30,000 documents are stored in the library and over 2,000,000 items related to LGBT topics are represented in the collection. The museum is located in Los Angeles , near the University of Southern California campus . A small gallery related to the history of homosexuality is attached to the museum and is located in West Hollywood . The archive can be visited during regular business hours.

The origins of the archive go back to ONE, Inc. , one of the first LGBT organizations in the United States. The organization was founded in 1952 by Dorr Legg and Don Slater , who jointly published the periodical LGBT magazine ONE Magazine . In the 1990s the archive of this organization was merged with the archive of the author Jim Kepner .
