ONE TEAM

ONE TEAM is a non-profit organization from Frankfurt am Main. Its aim is to give children and young people worldwide access to sport and to promote areas such as education, health and equality through sport. In order to ensure that the individual projects also have a sustainable effect, ONE TEAM works on site with local organizations.

A team of sports ambassadors and other volunteers has been supporting the founder Benjamin Pahlich since it was founded in 2017. With the help of public relations and fundraising in Germany, sports projects are currently supported in six different countries. ONE TEAM is funded through a grant from the “AndersGründer” program of the Social Impact Lab in Frankfurt am Main .

Rwanda

Handball with the Gorilla Handball Club

Project partners: Gorilla Handball Club and Never Play Alone St. Pauli eV

In 2017, over 3,500 girls and almost 4,000 boys took part in the club's offers. The Gorilla Handball Club uses sport to bring the children and young people back to school from the streets and to teach them values ​​such as tolerance, fairness, equality and everyday skills.

Skateboarding in Rwanda's only skate park

Project partners: Rwanda Skate-Aid Skateboarding and Skate-Aid Germany eV

The skate park in Rwanda is located in the schoolyard of the primary school of the SOS Children's Villages and offers children and young people a safe place to let off steam and make good use of their free time. Skateboarding gives children and young people the opportunity to develop a new body awareness and thus self-confidence and new perspectives. Regular events also guide the children on topics such as B. HIV prevention or environmental protection.

In addition to learning skills such as teamwork and fair play, this project also promotes the reading skills of the children taking part. The children meet several times a week to take part in playful lessons, because school sports have been proven to promote the ability to concentrate and thus also improve school performance.

Honduras

Beach volleyball

Project partner: Bay Islands Beach Volleyball Association (BIBVA)

The BIBVA offers children and young people free beach volleyball training. During the training they experience team spirit and learn to take responsibility for themselves and others. Knowledge about important social issues such as health and environmental protection is conveyed through extracurricular workshops in cooperation with local partners. In addition, the children and young people are supported in school.

Cape Verde

With the support of FIFA, an artificial turf pitch was built in the Delta Cultura education center. The center also has a library and a computer room. There are daily offers such as soccer or homework help and language lessons. More than 5000 children and young people take part in the numerous events every year.

Namibia

Project partners: Basketball Artists School Foundation and Basketball Artists School Namibia eV

The project was founded in 2010 by the German Olympic Sports Confederation. Every year between 500 and 1000 children take part in the activities. According to the motto "Education first, basketball second", the children use the educational programs and can practice their favorite sport. In this way, they become role models for other children and young people. In addition, topics such as equality, health, social inclusion and environmental protection are taught.

Tanzania

Project partners: Environmental Conservation Action and Worldwide - Society for the Promotion of Local Initiatives

Participating children and young people can playfully campaign for environmental protection in this project. The project partner Environmental Conservation Action organizes training courses and football tournaments in schools and all participating teams receive tree saplings that they can plant in their communities.

ONE TEAM is supported by various top athletes , such as the Hahner twins Anna and Lisa or Rune Dahmke , as well as various amateur athletes as ONE-TEAM ambassadors at races, triathlons or other major sporting events. The organization is primarily financed through private and corporate donations.
