ORCA AVA is an industry-specific construction software for the creation of cost planning , tendering, awarding and billing of construction services ( AVA ).
Accordingly, it is primarily used by architectural offices , engineering offices , construction departments, cities and municipalities, companies in the construction industry , universities and other educational institutes.
According to the manufacturer, ORCA Software GmbH, around 12,500 companies work with ORCA AVA .

ORCA AVA supports users who have to tender, award and invoice construction work.
In addition, the software offers the possibility of complete cost planning in terms of cost-optimized planning and building.
With the cost calculation according to DIN, the program fulfills the prerequisite for calculating the fee according to the fee schedule for architects and engineers .
ORCA AVA also provides various calculation options for costing and keeps all relevant data ready to carry out the associated cost control and cost control.
history
ORCA Software GmbH developed the first AVA version for the Microsoft DOS operating system in 1990. The tender software was called alpha + AVA 1.0 and was presented in 1991 at the trade fair for architects' computer systems (ACS) in Wiesbaden.
In 1995 the completely newly developed version alpha + AVA 7.0 for Microsoft Windows was presented. The manufacturer presented the 32-bit version of alpha + AVA in 1999 at the ACS.
With the change in the new millennium, the company name ORCA also gave its name to the AVA product line.

Market penetration
In 2010 the market research company BauInfoConsult carried out a nationwide market research study for the construction industry. The Construction Software and Internet Usage Monitor was published in February 2011. According to this study, one third of the surveyed building construction architects who use AVA software use ORCA AVA in their office.
