Askar Abildajew ( Kazakh Аскар Абильдаев; born June 16, 1971 ) is the president of the football club Shakhtar Karagandy and a former Kazakh football player .

Career

Askar Abildajew began his career in 1988 with the Soviet third division club Shakhtar Karagandy . In 1991 he was signed by Kairat Almaty , where he won the Kazakh Championship and the Kazakh Cup in 1992. In 1994 he moved to Irtysh Pavlodar . After a season, he returned to Karagandy, where the striker ended his active career. In November 2008 he was appointed President of Shakhtar Karagandy.
