ORS-5 or ORS 5 or SensorSat (from English operationally responsive space-5 ) is a military reconnaissance satellite of the United States , which for the operationally-Responsive Space was developed program.

He was born on August 26, 2017 at 6:04 UTC with a Minotaur IV - carrier rocket from the rocket launch site Cape Canaveral Air Force Station located in an about 600 km high orbit.

The satellite is equipped with a Geometry Optimized Space Telescope (GeOST) telescope and will monitor geostationary satellites and space debris in orbit. He will take over the tasks of the Space Based Space Surveillance (SBSS) satellite (USA-216) until its successor is launched. It was built by the Lincoln Laboratory of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and has a planned lifespan of at least three years.
