Most of the action takes place on the Canadian island of Oak Island in the North Atlantic . There are various legends about this island about a valuable treasure that has attracted daring treasure hunters for more than 200 years. The series accompanies the brothers Rick and Marty Lagina, who have also been there in search of the treasure since February 2013. When trying to find out the secret of the island, they use the latest drilling and pumping technology.

The docutainment series Lake Michigan - Curse and Legend was created after the success of Oak Island - Curse and Legend . Marty Lagina goes on a search for a legendary treasure again. After Marty met the Michigan adventurer Kevin Dykstra , he learned of a secret on Lake Michigan . Kevin Dykstra and his brothers are obsessed with a story that dates back to the American Civil War .
