Oatlands Palace is a noble seat that was used as a royal palace by both the Tudors and the Stuarts . It is located in the village of Oatlands between Weybridge and Walton on Thames in Surrey , England . Oatlands Palace was the place of the wedding between Henry VIII and his fifth wife Catherine Howard . Henry VIII had acquired the castle in 1538 and had it rebuilt for Anna von Kleve .

Little has been preserved from the original building. In 1964 excavation work was carried out to determine the dimensions of this former castle. Today there is a luxury hotel on the site of the royal palace.
