The obelisk in Saint-Vrain , a French commune in the Essonne department in the Île-de-France region , was erected in 1750. The obelisk has been on the list of architectural monuments in France as a Monument historique since 1948 .

The twelve-meter-high obelisk in the forest of Saint-Vrain was commissioned by the then landlord Louis Duval de L'Épinoy. The obelisk marks a point where several avenues meet and one of them led to the owner's castle.
