On May 9, 1920, the general assembly of the South German Cyclists 'Association in Singen finally discussed a possible merger with the Upper Baden Cyclists' Association. A joint meeting of the committees of both confederations had previously taken place. As early as October 1919, committees of both cycling associations had negotiated the union. Instead of the proposed name Süddeutsche Radfahrer-Bund , the common name should be Südwestdeutscher Radfahrer-Bund . Finally, the majority of the general meeting rejected the merger.
