The half-timbered house Obergasse 20 in Lang-Göns , a district of the Langgöns community in the district of Gießen ( Hesse ), is located in an important urban area opposite the Jakobuskirche on the L3133. Located at the gable facing the street, it shows an inscription in the threshold to the upper floor with a date of 1811. It is a Hessian cultural monument for urban and historical reasons. In 2013, the previously plastered house, the plaster of which was crumbling, was renovated and the half-timbering exposed.

To the right of the building is a younger, floor-to-ceiling, roofed, not yet renovated wooden gate. The two-story half-timbered house rests on a quarry stone base and ends with a crooked roof . The beams of the framework are dark red, the fields white. The upper floor and gable are slightly cantilevered . The beam heads in the horizontal beams between the ground floor and first floor are colored gray, the filler wood in between yellow. The threshold between the upper floor and the gable is shaped like a cornice in yellow and gray. Most of the axially symmetrical framework dates from the time it was built, but the ground floor was massively renovated in 2013. The corner posts are stabilized on the first and second floors with three-quarter high struts, which are held in place by bars, foot struts and counter struts. The half-timbering on the eaves side to the inner courtyard shows a man figure . In the base of the Obergasse, which climbs slightly to the southwest, there is a small opening to the cellar.

The closely spaced windows are arranged in two zones and secondarily enlarged. The white window frames are surrounded by gray draperies. Shutters that were still over 90 years old were removed in 2013. Under the parapet of the two small windows in the gable there are four free compartments, under the larger windows on the ground floor and two smaller fields each. On the eaves side towards Obergasse 18 there are three old windows with simple leaded glazing.

The outbuildings that are not visible from the street and the barn in the deep courtyard are also cultural monuments. The year 1811 can also be found above the barn door.

The building could be viewed on the Open Monument Day in 2015 and 2016.
