Route of the Khimki trolleybus

The Khimki trolleybus is the main inner-city means of transport in the city of Khimki in the Russian Oblast of Moscow . It also provides a connection to Moscow , but without being connected to its trolleybus network.

history

In 1994, construction of the first trolleybus line began in the city of Khimki, which is directly adjacent to Moscow. It was to lead from Khimki station to new residential areas in the west. In 1995 the construction work had to be temporarily suspended for financial reasons. Line 1 between ul. Pobedy and ul. Druschby was opened on April 24, 1997. The depot was built near the western terminus at ul. Druschby.

On October 5th, 1999 the decision was made to extend the trolleybus network beyond the city limits. The focus here was on connecting the Kurkino district of Moscow. This is directly adjacent to Chimki to the west. Kurkino was to be connected to the Planernaya station of the Moscow Metro via Khimki . A connection to the Moscow trolleybus network was not planned, the operation should be carried out from Khimki. In 2000 the connection to the metro station was to be built as the first section, and in 2002 the continuation from Khimki to Kurkino. On September 22, 2001, the line to the Planernaya station of the Moscow Metro ( Tagansko-Krasnopresnenskaya line ) was opened. For this purpose, the new trolleybus line 2 was introduced from ul. Druschby to the Planernaja metro station. In order to avoid confusion with inner-city Moscow lines, it was given line number 22 in 2005 and was soon renamed again, since then it has operated under number 202.

On September 7, 2006, line 1 was extended at the northeast end from ul. Pobedy to the “Rodina” stadium. Line 203 was set up on September 2, 2009 and runs between the Rodina stadium and the Planernaya metro station. The turning option at ul. Pobedy was retained, and there is another turning loop at Chimki station. Both are not used as planned.

The connection to Kurkino has not yet been built and the project is currently not being pursued any further.

vehicles

In Chimki only ZiU-9 (ZiU-682) of various substructures and replicas of this type were used. Even before the opening of the trolleybus operation, two ZiU-682Vs from the year of construction 1987 with the numbers 0001 and 0002 were available, which had previously been in use in Moscow and which had undergone a general overhaul in Vologda . For the opening of operations, five trolleybuses of the Belarusian type AKSM-101A (АКСМ-101А), an only slightly modified replica of the ZiU-9, were delivered; they were given the numbers 0003 to 0007. In 1998 the AKSM-101PS (АКСМ-101ПС) 0008, also a modified ZiU-9 replica, was added. Also in 1998 the ZiU-682G-012 (ЗиУ-682Г-012) 0009 to 0011 were delivered.

For the opening of line 2, 13 more vehicles were added from 2000 to 2001, all of the type ZiU-682G, they were numbered as 0012 and 0014 to 0025 (the number 0013 was never used in the following). In 2002 the ZiU-682G-016 0026 and 0027 were added, the replacement of the first generation began in the same year, so two ZiU-682G-016 were classified as 0001 and 0002. In 2003 and 2004 the new vehicles of the original equipment as well as trolleybus 0012 were replaced by new ZiU-682G-016, so they had a service life of only three to seven years. From 2005 to 2009 the trolleybuses 0014 to 0027 were replaced by ZiU-682G-016 with the same company number and the inventory was expanded by the trolleybus 0028.

Procurement of the third generation of vehicles began in 2009 to replace the trolleybuses delivered from 2002. From this point in time, ZiU-682G-016 were delivered with the newly designed front of type ZiU-682G-016.02 to .05. By 2011, a total of twelve trolleybuses of this type with the numbers 0001 to 0011 and 0014 were put into operation, each of which replaced the vehicles with the same number from the previous generation. In 2012, a ZiU-682 KR Iwanowo (ЗиУ-682 КР Иваново, the name refers to a major repair in Iwanowo ) was used under the number 0012 ; it was created from the decommissioned predecessor vehicle of the same number. In December 2013, low-floor buses came to Chimki for the first time, and two Trolsa 5625 Megapolis cars have been in use since then. They were given the numbers 0029 and 0030, until the beginning of 2014 no older trolleybuses were retired for them.

At the beginning of 2014 there were 29 trolleybuses in stock, the oldest of which was from 2005.

business

The trolleybus operation in Chimki is carried out by MUP Chimkieletrotrans. This company also operates some bus routes in Khimki.

Three trolleybus routes operate in Khimki:

line 1

ul. Druschby - Stadium "Rodina"

Line 202

ul.Druschby - Metro Planernaja

Line 203

Rodina Stadium - Metro Planernaya

Lines 1 and 202 run approximately every five minutes during rush hour. Line 203 only runs every twelve minutes, and in times of low traffic it only runs two trips per hour.
