The Oberon peak is 1,250 m high and isolated Nunatak in the center of the West Antarctic Alexander Island . It rises around 13 km north-northwest of Titania Peak at the head of the Uranus Glacier .
The British geographer Derek Searle of the Falkland Islands Dependencies Survey mapped it in 1960 using aerial photographs taken by the American Ronne Antarctic Research Expedition (1947-1948). The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named it in 1961 based on the naming of the Uranus glacier after the Uranus moon Oberon .
