The Oberstufenschule Wädenswil is the secondary school in the municipality of Wädenswil . The school was awarded the Swiss School Prize in 2013.

Schoolhouses

The secondary school in Wädenswil has the Rotweg, Fuhr and Steinacher school buildings. There are currently 26 classes (2017) teaching over 550 students.

Schoolhouse Untermosen (former high school)

In addition to the primary school, the Untermosen school house also housed the upper school (until Christmas 2016). The Untermosen schoolhouse was inaugurated in 1975.

Rotweg schoolhouse

The schoolhouse Rotweg was built in the 1950s. In 2014 it was demolished. The new Rotweg school building was ready for the schoolchildren to move into shortly before the 2016 Christmas holidays.

Schoolhouse Fuhrstrasse

The Fuhr school building is one of the newer school buildings in Wädenswil. The schoolhouse from 1954 was demolished and rebuilt. The construction of the old school building in Fuhr cost 1,980,000 Swiss francs. The federal government and the canton paid a contribution of 214,600 Swiss francs. The old school building on Lindenstrasse was converted into a commercial school building.

Steinacher schoolhouse

The Steinacher school house is in the Au . It has its own indoor pool because the indoor pool in Wädenswil is too far away.

Learning landscape / LiLo

Since 2012, teaching in the LiLo system (learning in learning landscapes at the Wädenswil Upper School) has been taught in groups of mixed ages and / or levels at the Upper School in Wädenswil. The learning system of the learning landscape is intended to promote independent work. The students work with a weekly schedule that should be completed by Friday.

Swiss School Prize 2013

In 2013, the Oberstufenschule Wädenswil took part in the competition for the Swiss School Prize, which is awarded to secondary schools, grammar schools, primary schools and other private and public schools for "above-average commitment and for the design of outstanding processes and results in dealing with school and educational challenges". In addition to the school performance in the core subjects, the work in the artistic field as well as dealing with diversity, the quality of teaching and the school climate are evaluated. The prize was awarded for the first time in 2013, and ten schools were awarded. The upper secondary school in Wädenswil won one of the two main prizes endowed with 40,000 Swiss francs .
