Oblationarius
The Oblationarius was a monk who in the Middle Ages in a convent had the task of donations (ie oblations ) to receive for the monastery.
In the 12th and 13th centuries, the oblations originally presented in the form of food were replaced by other gifts, especially money. For this purpose, a special case (the "Oblationarium") was placed at monasteries and churches, in a modified form as Opferstock , sacrificial liner and collection plate persists. Many monasteries also set up a special Oblation House where the Oblationarius received the gifts.
