Obren Petrović (born May 11, 1957 in Doboj ) is a politician from Doboj, Bosnia and Herzegovina . Petrović is a member of the Srpska Demokratska Stranka and currently serves as the mayor of Doboj.

Life

Petrović graduated from elementary and middle school in Doboj and later from the Faculty of Political Science in Zagreb with a degree in political science. He worked at the Doboj Police Station throughout his professional life and was head of the Doboj Municipality Civil Protection Department until he was appointed mayor of the municipality in 2002. The National Assembly of the Republika Srpska passed the law on the town of Doboj in July 2012, which elevated the municipality of Doboj to a town, making Obren Petrović the first mayor of Doboj. He has been elected in four election cycles so far - from the municipal elections in 2004 and 2008, when he received the mandates of the mayor of the city administration, to the elections in 2012 and 2016, when he was elected mayor of Doboj.
