Obscenity ( English : "Obscenity") is a Death Metal band from Oldenburg . The band plays typical American death metal in the style of the Florida scene .

history

The band was formed in 1989. Obscenity released the first two albums on very small music labels that couldn't get the band going. With the record deal with the German label Morbid Records , the band finally became known to a wider audience. After ten years of working with Morbid Records, the contract was terminated in 2006. The band has been under contract with Armageddon since 2006. Some Obscenity members have started a side project called The Now Noise . Long-time bassist Alexander Pahl left the band at the end of 2006 in order to be able to devote himself fully to his second band, Dew-Scented . Drummer Marc-Andree Dieken has also switched to Dew-Scented. A successor has not yet been found. In May 2009 singer Oliver Jauch left the band and founded his solo project Shellshock. Original member Hendrik Bruns has been writing new material since the beginning of 2010 in order to produce an album with new band members for 2012 on a new label Apostasy Records in the near future.
