Morbid Records

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Morbid Records was a German independent music label based in Cottbus (until 2006 in Drebkau ). The label specializes in death metal and grindcore music. The most famous and successful bands of the label are Krabathor , Hypnös and Haemorrhage . In 2008 the label stopped working.

history

The label was founded in December 1989 in Drebkau . In the early 1990s, mainly vinyl EPs were released. This was followed by albums by the Israeli band Salem, the Polish grindcore formation Dead Infection and the southern German death metal band Mangled Torsos.

In 1995 the label had massive problems with censorship . Due to a complaint from Christa Jenal , who was previously involved in the ban on Cannibal Corpse publications, a search was launched on the label. The entire inventory of sound carriers was to be confiscated on the grounds that some of the publications were "socially ethically disorienting" or "pornographic". However, the label was able to avert this.

Since March 1, 2008, the label has been part of War Anthem Records , the label of the Party.San festival.
