Lividity ( English for ' death spots ') is a deathmetal band from Champaign , Illinois , United States . The band has often been criticized for their misogynistic lyrics and record covers.

history

The band was founded in 1993 by Dave Kibler who initially ran Lividity as a one-man project. Only after the release of the first demo in 1994 more musicians joined and Lividity began to work professionally. In 1997, Fetish for the Sick was the first official release of the band on the Alated Records label. In 2000 the band got a record deal with United Guttural Records, on which the following album appeared. Since 2002 Lividity has been under contract with the German music label Morbid Records . In 2004, the label made it possible for the band to go on a headlining tour through Europe, with Masters also playing in the opening act.
