Ocean View Amusement Park

The Ocean View Amusement Park was an amusement park in Norfolk , Virginia . It was at the end of Granby Street on Ocean View Avenue. The Ocean View Beach Park can now be found at this point .

Some filming for the film roller coaster took place in this amusement park in 1977 . The roller coaster the collapse of which was shown in this film was Rocket . On the last day the park was open to the public, the recordings for roller coaster were produced.

The wooden roller coaster Rocket was finally destroyed during the filming of the television film The Death of Ocean View Park in 1979.

Ocean View Amusement Park featured five wooden roller coasters , Skyrocket Jr. , Scenic Railway , Leap The Dips , Rocket, and Figure 8 .

The Ocean View Station Museum in Norfolk , Virginia , USA has an exhibition on the history of Ocean View Amusement Park .
