Oda-Gerlind Gawlik (born March 22, 1948 in Recklinghausen ) is a German politician of the SPD .

education and profession

Oda-Gerlind Gawlik graduated from high school in 1966. From 1966 to 1971 he studied law at the Ruhr University in Bochum . The first state law examination took place in 1971, the second in 1974. From 1975 to 1979 Gawlik was a research assistant at the University of Giessen . From 1979 to 1982 she was employed by the district government of Düsseldorf , where from 1980 she held the position of department head in municipal and financial supervision. She worked in the Düsseldorf State Chancellery from 1982 to 1987, and from 1984 she became a consultant in the field of government and task planning. She was appointed ministerial advisor in 1986. From 1987 to 1995 Gawlik was an alderman of the city of Mülheim an der Ruhr for schools, culture, further education and sport and from 1994 also city director.

Oda-Gerlind Gawlik has been a member of the SPD from 1968 to 1973 and again since 1982. In 1995 she became deputy chairwoman of the local association and deputy chairwoman of the SPD sub-district of Mülheim. She became a member of the Federal Control Commission of the SPD in 1999. In 2000 she became a member of the Lower Rhine District Committee. She has been a member of IG Metall since 1999.

Gawlik was a directly elected member of the 13th state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia from 2000 to 2005.
