Oenopides is an impact crater on the northwestern edge of the lunar front . It is located on the northern edge of the Oceanus Procellarum , northwest of the Sinus Roris , between the Markov craters in the south and Pythagoras in the north. The inside of the crater is flat with smaller craters, the wall is moderately eroded.

The crater was officially named by the IAU in 1935 after the Greek mathematician Oinopides .
