Office Line Evolution

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Sage 100 stands for enterprise resource planning software (ERP) from Sage . Originally developed by the company KHK ( Karl-Heinz Killeit ), the Office Line based on Microsoft Access was first published in 1995 as "Office Line Jet". Sage has been modernizing the Office Line since 2016, resulting in the Sage 100.

history

With the takeover of the KHK company by the British Sage Group in 1997, the Office Line was incorporated into the Sage Group's product portfolio and continuously developed.

In 2008, Sage began using Microsoft's “ .NET ” technology for the Office Line. This change, called "Evolution" by product management, led to the new product name "Office Line Evolution". In subsequent versions, especially since 2013, the name affix was no longer used consistently, although Sage continued to pursue the step-by-step product development. However, in 2016 the "evolution" is not over and the software is a technology mix of Access , Com , .NET , application server and Visual Basic Code.

In 2016, Sage decided to redevelop the "Sage 100" based on the "Sage Office Line". Sage is thus following the international standard after which Sage 50 (which is aimed at small companies) was named. At the same time, the technological innovation, z. B. can be expressed through the use of the AppDesigner and the further replacement of Microsoft Access by other technologies.

The paid software Sage 100 addresses small and medium-sized companies from 10 to 200 employees across all industries.

The forecast - ERP suite, which includes the Sage 100 is modular and supports most internal business processes for merchandise management, accounting, production planning and control, human resources, the customer management (CRM) and business analysis (BI) .
