Carl Alexander Raida
Carl Alexander Raida (born October 4, 1852 in Paris , † November 26, 1923 in Berlin ) was a German composer .
Life
The son of a consul received musical training at the conservatories in Stuttgart and Dresden . From 1874, Raida was theater music director in Stolp , Görlitz , Posen and Breslau . From 1878 he worked at the Viktoria Theater in Berlin and for one season at the Berlin National and Kroll Theater . In 1882 he founded the Academy for Dramaturgical Singing and in 1887 the Society of Opera Friends in Berlin. From 1895 he worked at the Deutsches Theater in Munich , where he became director and senior director in 1896/1897. He later returned to Berlin. He composed numerous antics , ballets and operettas .
