Officer's cabin

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The officers' cabin is a single cabin for ship officers ( nautical and technical officers), which consists of a bedroom and living and working space. Unlike the crew cabins, officers' cabins are mostly located on the higher decks . Officer's cabins are more spacious and comfortable than other cabins on board to ensure a level of comfort commensurate with their rank. The captain usually has representative rooms. Depending on the hierarchy level, the other officers' cabins are smaller and more modest.

On a few ships and yachts there are comparable owner's cabins that are similar to captain's cabins. On sailing ships , the officer's cabins are usually on the aft deck .
