German-Baltic Relations

Since Latvia regained independence in 1990, Ojārs Spārītis has been particularly active as a bridge builder between Latvians and the Baltic Germans. As a board member and chairman from 1992 until today, he has helped shape the development of the association. For projects to preserve historically valuable cultural assets, e.g. Ojārs Spārītis has been the initiator and advisor for the United Courland Foundation (Munich) since 1994, for example protected patronage churches and mansions.
