Olaf Cuaran (also Olaf Sihtricson, Óláfr Sigtryggsson, Anelaf Cuiran, Anelaf Cwiran, Anlaf, Onlaf ; † 981 ) was king (chief) of the Viking kingdom of Dublin and as Olaf II of the kingdom of Jórvík from 941 to 943 and 944 and 949 to 952.

In Irish he is known as Amlaíb Cuaran . His nickname cuaran means "sandals".

He ruled Dublin until 937 and took part in the Battle of Brunanburh on the side of the defeated Alliance.

Among his wives was Gormflaith, daughter of Murchad mac Finn, King of Leinster, and future wife of Brian Boru . She was the mother of his successor, Sigtrygg Silkbeard.

In 980 Olaf suffered a heavy defeat at the Battle of Tara , which wiped out the power of the Danes in Ireland . He went to Iona and probably died there in 981.
