Olaf Jahn

Olaf Jahn (* 1960) is a German journalist. The former foreign correspondent and investigative journalist has been running the Berlin School of Journalism together with journalist Joachim Widmann since October 2012 . Previously, he had set up and led investigative research teams for the news agencies ddp Deutscher Depeschendienst and dapd news agency .

Life

Jahn studied Sinology in Hamburg and Taipei (Taiwan) and graduated from the Axel Springer School of Journalism (today: Axel Springer Academy ). After the fall of the Berlin Wall, he headed the Berlin correspondents office of the Hamburger Abendblatt (1991–1995) and, together with the journalist Nina Gerstenberg, set up the Asia correspondents office of the Axel Springer Verlag in Hong Kong (1995–1999). He was deputy head of politics and chief reporter of the Berliner Morgenpost (1999–2002), did research for the paper on the Berlin bank affair and then switched to the ARD political magazine Kontraste (2002–2005). For the news agency dapd , Jahn did extensive research on Deutsche Bahn, the Heros Group's money transport scandal and other topics in the areas of mismanagement, corruption and white-collar crime.
