Olaf Machelett

Olaf Machelett (born February 12, 1986 in Hagen ) is a German fistball player .

Machelett comes from Milspe in Ennepetal and started playing fistball at the local men's gymnastics club. He later moved to TSV 1860 Hagen , for whom he has been active again in the Bundesliga since 2011. In addition to sport, Machelett completed an engineering degree at the Gelsenkirchen University of Applied Sciences.

As a fistball player, Machelett plays in one of the back positions, either as a nominal defender or as a middle man (player). With TV Westfalia Hamm he won all German championship titles from 2005 to 2007 in the field and in the hall. In addition to these six DM successes, there was a first place in the European Cup in the hall in 2005 and 2007.

In 2007 he became European champion with the German junior national team. National coach Olaf Neuenfeld brought him to the 2008 European Championships in Stuttgart; the German national team finished third. At the 2011 World Cup in Austria, Machelett won the title with the team, in 2014 he was European champion and in 2015 world champion again. He completed a total of 48 international matches for the German national team and resigned as a national player in 2015 after winning the World Cup.
