Olaf Miehe

Olaf Miehe (born March 3, 1935 , † July 5, 2010 ) was a German law scholar and professor at the Ruprecht-Karls-Universität Heidelberg .

Life

In 1955 Miehe began studying law at the University of Hamburg and also sat in on the Hamburg University of Music . In 1956 he moved to the University of Göttingen , where he passed his first state examination in law in 1959. In 1964 he received his doctorate at Friedrich Schaffstein Dr. iur. and then passed his second state examination in the same year. He then worked as Schaffstein's assistant until he completed his habilitation in 1971 and received the venia legendi for the subjects of criminal law and criminal procedure law, criminology and youth law. From 1973 he held a full chair in criminal law at Heidelberg University , where he taught and researched until his retirement in 2001. In the winter semester 1991/92 he was seconded to the TU Dresden ; from 1991 he held various teaching positions at the University of Leipzig .

He was married and had three daughters.

Works and works (selection)

In his research, Miehe mainly focused on juvenile criminal law and juvenile criminology. However, he also published on the remaining material criminal law, in particular on property offenses .
