Olaf Poulsen
Olaf Poulsen (born July 27, 1920 in Kristiania , † September 27, 2008 in Oslo ) was a Norwegian speed skater , President of the International Skating Union (ISU) and member of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) .
As a young man, Olaf Poulsen was a speed skater. He started for Club Oslo IL and later worked on the club board. In 1966 he became a member of the Norwegian Ice Skating Association. Here he was Vice President from 1968 and President from 1969 to 1973. He was a member of the ISU Council from 1971, Vice President from 1977 and finally President from 1984 to 1994, then Honorary President. From 1992 to 1994 Olaf Poulsen was a member of the IOC.
After the Olympic Winter Games in his home country in 1994, he resigned from all his offices.
