Olaf Thees

Olaf Thees (born September 22, 1958 in Erfurt ) is a German politician ( CDU ).

Life

Thees did an apprenticeship as an agricultural engineer and mechanizer and studied at the technical school for constitutional law in Weimar , graduating as a political scientist. At the CDU, which he joined in 1979, he was a member of the local executive committee in Lutter and the district executive committee in Heiligenstadt . In 1981 he became mayor of the municipality of Lutter. He put this left office in March 1990 after the People's Parliament voted was. After reunification, he was one of the 150 members of the Volkskammer who joined the German Bundestag . After his time as a member of parliament, Thees began as the main insurance representative of Allianz Versicherung in 1991 , and has been chairman of the CDU local association in Lutter since 2004.
