Life

In 1944 he obtained his doctorate in engineering. at the Technical University in Vienna on the subject of the distribution of shear forces on the connecting elements of long bracket connections . After 1945 he taught mechanical engineering and production at the engineering school in Hamburg. Since his habilitation from 1962 onwards , he has worked as a private lecturer and associate professor at the TU Berlin in the subjects of physical strength and missiles. His lectures included the aerodynamic calculations of aircraft structures. They consist of the fundamentals, the calculation methods for structures and their stability as well as their controllability.

In the seventies he also held the position of a department director at the United Flugtechnische Werken GmbH . On September 30, 1975, he and Gunther Joeg received US Patent No. 3 908 783 on the development of the Winged Surface Effect Vehicle .

He belonged to the German Aerospace Society Lilienthal-Oberth eV.
