The Old Penguin Rookery ( English for Old Penguin Colony ) is a breeding colony of Adelie penguins on the Antarctic Ross Island . It is located on Blacksand Beach near Cape Royds .

Participants in the Nimrod expedition (1907-1909) led by the British polar explorer Ernest Shackleton named them.
