Old and St Michael of Tarvit Parish Church
The Old and St Michael of Tarvit Parish Church is a church building of the Presbyterian Church of Scotland in the Scottish village of Cupar in the Council Area Fife . In 1972 the building was included as an individual monument in the Scottish monument lists in the highest monument category A.
history
The earliest church building on the site was erected in 1415. It had a bell tower on the west side, which was raised in 1620. Two years earlier, the Parish merged with the neighboring Parish St Michael of Tarvit to form Parish Old and St Michael of Tarvit . The church building has served as a parish church since then . With the exception of the bell tower, the church was demolished and rebuilt in 1785. In 1877 a Sunday school was added. In 2008 the church building was restored and modernized.

The Old and St Michael of Tarvit Parish Church stands southwest of central Cupar. The bell tower rises from the western end of the church building. It has a footprint of 6.9 m × 5.5 m and a height of 21 m. It runs a parapet with Renaissance - balusters to. The tower closes with a 13 m high pointed helmet. The tower connects to a three-axis fragment of the original church building.
