Ole Fischer (born August 14, 1943 in Remscheid-Lennep , † 2005 in Cologne ) was a German painter and lithographer . From 1961 he studied sculpture and free graphics at the Cologne factory schools .

Life

Ole Fischer was born on August 14, 1943 as Hermann Jürgen August Fischer in Remscheid-Lennep . He has been called Ole since early childhood.

In 1961, at the age of 18, he began studying sculpture with Ludwig Gies at the Cologne Werkschulen and at the same time studying free graphics with Alfred Will .

In the following years, lithography was the focus of his work. This included stays in Salzburg with Werner Otte and in Israel in the En Hod artists' colony , which was founded in 1953 on the initiative of the Dadaist Marcel Janco in the Arab village of Ein Howd, whose residents were expelled when the state was founded in 1948.

From 1965 to 1971 he worked as a lithographer in the USA, among others for Robert Rauschenberg, Sam Francis, Motherwell, de Kooning and others

From 1984 onwards, Ole Fischer turned completely to painting and, until his death in 2005, created an extensive work in his studio in Cologne's Moltkestrasse with hundreds of mostly large-format pictures, mostly in a mixed technique with ever new variations.
